Head of Catering, St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

A caterer from age 15, Marcel spent his apprenticeship in Germany, before working in hotels and fine dining in Germany, Switzerland and the UK until 2000.

From 2000 onwards he transitioned to contract catering in B&I and then Education Catering in 2008. Marcel achieved a BA Hons 1st in Education and Training, then proceeded to become a Catering Educator/Lecturer at LSEC in 2015, right up to Covid.

In May 2020 he joined the NHS at Croydon University Hospital where he helped launch the UK's first Elective Centre. His next move was to GSTT in October 2021 as Production Manager where he has now been promoted to Head of Catering and Food Safety Specialist at St Georges University NHS Foundation Trust in Tooting, London.

Marcel is secretary of the London & Southeast HCA Branch and is a WSET educator and keen DIY-er.
