Romano Provini

Assistant Head of National Sourcing, NHS Wales

Romano Provini is Assistant Head of National Sourcing within the Swansea Bay Integrated Partnership Team at NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) Procurement Services, covering the regional and national sourcing responsibilities of Provisions, Hotel Services and Maintenance. Romano is a qualified procurement professional, gaining an MSc in Strategic Procurement Management at the University of South Wales.

Having been involved in Provisions for over 10 years now, Romano has extensive experience in NHS food procurement. In that time Romano has experienced many challenges, whilst contributing towards much change and progress within the organisation. Late 2020, Romano was seconded to Welsh Government to support with Brexit Preparedness and Foundational Economy policy development, also contributing towards the planning of Government's then upcoming work programme.

Romano remains as passionate as ever about food procurement, and particularly that NHS Wales, the wider procurement and catering community continue to engage and operate in a sustainable manner.
