Paul began his career as a mechanical, electrical, and Health Technical Memorandum service and test engineer, working within the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. His early experience laid a strong technical foundation for his subsequent roles in healthcare facilities management.

In 2000, Paul joined Eastwood Park Training Centre. By 2004, he had advanced to become the Manager of the Decontamination department. In this capacity, he was responsible for delivering courses focused on the decontamination of surgical devices and associated plant within healthcare settings. His role also included teaching compliance and governance to ensure high standards within the sector.
While at Eastwood Park, Paul pursued further education, enrolling in and completing senior management qualifications to expand his leadership skills.

Paul joined the NHS in 2007, starting at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. In 2009, he moved to Southmead Hospital, where he eventually became Associate Director within the Estates and Facilities directorate. Paul played a key role in the creation and operational transition of the Southmead Brunel PFI hospital, which was completed in May 2014.

In June 2025, Paul was appointed Associate Director for Facilities at the Royal United Hospitals in Bath. In this role, he oversees all operational activities related to Facilities across the Bath campus. His responsibilities include the management of Patient and Retail Catering, Cleaning, Security, Portering, and other essential services.
Paul is committed to fostering innovation and efficiency within the facilities he manages. He actively encourages colleagues to embrace new opportunities and supports the initiation of pilot projects, promoting a culture where everyone is inspired to ‘have a go’ and contribute to continuous improvement.
